Terms of service

1. Who we are

LinkTender (the "Service", including the website at getlinktender.com, the LinkTender and LinkTender Pro WordPress plugins, the licence server and support) is provided by LinkTender, an independent service ("we", "us"). For any communication, including legal notices, write to support@getlinktender.com.

2. Purchases through Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle sells you the licence, collects payment, issues the invoice or receipt and calculates and pays sales tax or VAT. The Paddle buyer terms also apply to your purchase.

3. The software

The free LinkTender plugin and the LinkTender Pro add-on are WordPress plugins licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under that licence. What you buy is a licence key that gives access to activation of the Pro features through our licence server, to updates and to support, as described below.

4. Plans

Pro (1 site): $39 per year.
Pro Unlimited (Unlimited sites): $99 per year.
Lifetime (1 site): $99 one-time.
Lifetime Unlimited (Unlimited sites): $249 one-time.

A "site" is one live WordPress installation, identified by its home address. Development and staging copies (localhost, IP addresses, *.local, *.test, *.localhost, and addresses whose first part is staging, stage, dev, test or local) do not count towards the limit. A multisite network activated as a whole counts as one activation; a network with more than one site requires an unlimited plan. You may move a licence by deactivating it on one site and activating it on another.

5. Subscriptions and renewals

Yearly plans renew automatically at the end of each year at the then-current price for your plan, which we will tell you about in advance if it changes. You can cancel at any time through the link in your Paddle receipt or by writing to us; the licence then stays active until the end of the paid year. After a licence ends, Pro features keep working for a grace period of 14 days and then switch off; the free plugin and your data are not affected. Updates and support are included while a yearly licence is active.

6. Lifetime licences

Lifetime plans are paid once and do not expire. They include Pro activation, updates and support for as long as we offer LinkTender Pro. If we ever stop offering it, we will announce this on the website with reasonable notice and publish a final version that works without the licence server.

7. Fair use

Do not share your licence key publicly, resell it, or try to get around the site limits or the licence checks. We may suspend a key that is clearly abused, after contacting you where possible. If a payment is refunded or charged back, the licence is deactivated.

8. Prices and taxes

Prices on the website are in US dollars. Paddle calculates any sales tax or VAT based on your location and shows the total before you pay.

9. Refunds

You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, see the refund policy. This is in addition to, and does not limit, your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. What the software does and does not do

LinkTender checks links by requesting them from your server, and can change your content when you ask it to (for example "Edit URL", "Use final URL" or the redirect clean-up). Checks can be wrong: other sites may block, rate-limit or answer differently to automated requests, and product pages can change without notice. Keep backups and review changes; WordPress revisions let you undo post edits.

11. Warranty

We work hard to keep the Service correct and available, but it is provided "as is", without warranties beyond those that the law does not allow us to exclude. In particular we do not guarantee that every broken link or unavailable product will be found, or that the licence server will be reachable at all times (the plugin keeps working for up to 30 days without it).

12. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost commissions or lost data. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or to mandatory consumer rights.

13. Changes

We may update these terms; the date below shows the latest version. Material changes do not apply retroactively to licences already bought.

14. Applicable law

If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live apply, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.
